Celebrate West Boca!

The bad news is that Celebrate West Boca, the FREE event scheduled for Friday night, December 4 at the Sunset Cove Amphitheater, turned into Celebrate Wet Boca. The party had to be cancelled due to heavy rain.

The good news is that there will be a bigger and better Celebrate West Boca on January 16 – also FREE. This time it will be on Saturday rather than Friday night, making it easier for those who work or worship on Fridays.

As before, entertainment will be provided by The Fabulons, Florida’s most popular party band, whose mainstay is old favorites from the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Thousands of dollars worth of door prizes will be given away throughout the evening!

Kindergarten children from West Boca’s six elementary schools will lead us in the pledge of allegiance.

Burt Aaronson, the current Chair of Palm Beach County’s Board of Commissioners, will say a few words, as will State Senator Ted Deutch, currently a candidate for Congressman Robert Wexler’s seat. West Boca Community Council President Sheri Scarborough will emcee.

Ten food and beverage vendors will be on hand. Or you are welcome to BYO.

Please remember to bring lawn chairs or a blanket, as Sunset Cove Amphitheater has a vast lawn but no seating.  Sorry, no pets or coolers.

The show starts at 7 pm -- gates open at 6. To get there from 441, go west on Glades 2.5 miles and turn right into South County Regional Park just past the fire station.

Celebrate West Boca marks the 30th anniversary of the West Boca Community Council. It was founded in Boca Lakes at the kitchen table of the late Fran Reich, a feisty grandmother who was responsible for much of what we appreciate about West Boca.

The Council is an all-volunteer civic organization led by 16 Directors elected annually. It is the closest thing we have to local government west of the Boca Raton city limits, serving as the voice for West Boca with county and state government.
