December, 2009
Hi! Welcome to the Waterways web site. We are pleased to bring you news of our community to keep you informed and interested in what is happening, and hope this gives you the incentive to take a more active part in governing Waterways through your Architectural Review Committee. We do want to remind you that your Architectural Review Committee only approves any changes you may have in painting, plantings or any other changes you may wish to make to your property. We DO NOT ISSUE VIOLATIONS to home owners, that is the duty of the Boca Winds Homeowners Association. Our job is to help the community maintain a harmonious appearance to enjoy the visual pleasures for our residents, and to keep property values high.

Here is what happened at our December 15th meeting:
Committee Business Paul Pontrelli, our committee President, and Member of the Boca Winds Homeowners Association conducted the meeting. 5 members were present. 3 community residents were present.
Request for Modification: There were 2 modifications accepted, 1 partially approved (with conditions), and 1 was rejected.
The important news of the day is that our Paul Pontrelli was elected as President of the Boca Winds Board of Directors. Congratulations, Paul, we are proud to have you represent Waterways, and Boca Winds.
Community News:
Security: Bill Petraglia reported: December was a positive month as far as security was concerned. Our patrols are doing a good job, and just their presence in the community is a positive step.
Boca Winds Picnic: - Paul related there were problems with the number of people, which made food in short supply, and more food had to be bought during the picnic. Paul polled the ARC members as to their feelings on next year’s picnic, and it was unanimous that Waterways did not desire to continue the expenses of the picnic, but rather that the funds could be put to better use. Paul will carry this information to the Boca Winds Board.
- Alan Hertz reported on the ongoing negotiations with Comcast concerning our contract with them. He will have more to report as obtained.
- West Boca Community Council: Paul, a member of the council, announced that the Council has re-scheduled its 30th Anniversary and celebration of avoidance of the extension of University Drive, until Saturday, January 16th, 2010, starting at 7:00 pm. The event will take place at the Sunset Cove Amphitheater, on Glades Road, with the Fabulons performing, and there will be fireworks and other events. This is replacing the December 4th event which a washout.
Having no other business, the meeting was closed.
IF YOU WANT YOUR OPINIONS, GRIEVANCES AND SUGGESTIONS TO BE BROUGHT BEFORE THE BOCA WINDS BOARD OF DIRECTORS, YOU SHOULD COME OUT TO THE ARC MEETINGS, AND MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD. DON’T WAIT FOR A BIG ISSUE TO COME OUT TO THE MEETINGS, MAKE A SINCERE ATTEMPT TO COME OUT AND GIVE OUR REPRESENTITIVES THE ABILITY TO VOTE YOUR WISHES! NEXT ARC MEETING: TUESDAY, JANUARY 19TH. COME AND JOIN US!!
