October, 2009

Hi! Welcome to the Waterways web site. We are pleased to bring you news of our community to keep you informed and interested in what is happening, and hope this gives you the incentive to take a more active part in governing Waterways through your Architectural Review Committee.
We do want to remind you that your Architectural Review Committee only approves any changes you may have in painting, plantings or any other changes you may wish to make to your property. We DO NOT ISSUE VIOLATIONS to home owners, that is the duty of the Boca Winds Homeowners Association. Our job is to help the community maintain a harmonious appearance to enjoy the visual pleasures for our residents, and to keep property values high.

Your officers are:

Here is what happened at our October 20, 16th meeting:

Paul Pontrelli, our committee President, and Member of the Boca Winds Homeowners Association conducted the meeting.

All committee members were present.
Three community residents were present.

Request for Modification: There was one request for modification. It was approved.

Security: Bill Petraglia reported: A woman was killed at Shorewind and Palmetto Park Road, citing a need for a traffic light or blinker at that intersection. Bill and the committee asked Paul to bring it up at the next Boca Winds monthly meeting. He will work with Boca Falls on this issue. The proposal was subsequently turned down by the Boca Winds Board.
As for general security, it continues to be a positive situation, with little to report, due to our security patrols, and general patrols in the area.

Other Discussions:
Paul Pontrelli reported that:
- At a budget committee, a final proposal was adopted and will be presented to the Boca Winds board. The budget calls for an $8.00 per quarter increase for Boca Winds. Ken Ristau reported the proposed Bay Winds will show no increase. For Boca Winds, there was a mandatory $3.50 increase for our cable contract, $3.00 for capital improvements, and a general increase of $1.50. There were pluses and minuses that balanced out most of the budget.
- There was a general discussion of neighborhood occurrences.
- At the November 17th Waterways meeting, there will be the election of ARC committee members. All residents should attend and vote.

Having no other business, the meeting was closed.

IF YOU WANT YOUR OPINIONS, GRIEVANCES AND SUGGESTIONS TO BE BROUGHT BEFORE THE BOCA WINDS BOARD OF DIRECTORS, YOU SHOULD COME OUT TO THE ARC MEETINGS, AND MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD. DON’T WAIT FOR A BIG ISSUE TO COME OUT TO THE MEETINGS, MAKE A SINCERE ATTEMPT TO COME OUT AND GIVE OUR REPRESENTITIVES THE ABILITY TO VOTE YOUR WISHES!

NEXT ARC MEETING: TUESDAY, November 17th, COME AND JOIN US!!
