Hi! Welcome to the Waterways web site. We are pleased to bring you news of our community to keep you informed and interested in what is happening, and hope this gives you the incentive to take a more active part in governing Waterways through your Architectural Review Committee. We do want to remind you that your Architectural Review Committee only approves any changes you may have in painting, plantings or any other changes you may wish to make to your property. We DO NOT ISSUE VIOLATIONS to home owners, that is the duty of the Boca Winds Homeowners Association. Our job is to help the community maintain a harmonious appearance to enjoy the visual pleasures for our residents, and to keep property values high.

Here is what happened at our September, 16th meeting:
Paul Pontrelli, our committee President, and Member of the Boca Winds Homeowners Association conducted the meeting. Six committee members were present. Four community residents present.
Request for Modification: There were 2 requests for modification.
Security: Bill Petraglia reported: August was a fairly quiet month. There were the usual incidents, speeders, suspicious persons, false alarms, etc.. In a non security issue, Bill will meet with the Town Hall Committee, regarding other resident uses of Town Hall.
Other Discussions: Paul Pontrelli reported that: - There were 35 foreclosures in Boca Winds, or about 21%. Foreclosures were discussed. - There was a general discussion about the status of mail boxes, light posts, condition of roofs, etc., in Waterways, and he will work with management to correct those situations. - An incident occurred at the West Pool, involving a resident who had a dog in the pool. He will take up with the Boca Winds board, putting up a sign on the pool doors indicating that no animals were allowed inside the pool.
- Paul also polled the committee on how he should vote on a Boca Winds budget item concerning the Annual Picnic. The committee voted unanimously no funds for the 2010 picnic, and it was suggested that those funds (around $8,000) be used to restore our private police patrol that was taken off for expense reasons. This year’s picnic is scheduled for Saturday, November 14th. - Regarding Holiday lighting this year, a proposal made to Boca Winds was very expensive to light up the new front entrance was deemed too much. Instead, Paul will put up some lighting with the help of some residents. He indicated he could always more help. Anyone interested, please contact Paul. - At the Major Holiday Celebration, the Fabulons will perform at the Amphitheater (entrance on Glades Road) on Friday December 4th. There will be fireworks, and other happenings. There will not be children’s rides, etc., but all families are welcome. - Paul attended a meeting of the West Boca Council and announced the proposed University/Riverside road proposal is officially closed.
Having no other business, the meeting was closed.
