September 17, 2008
The Waters Edge September 15th ARC Meeting started with only 3 members of the Committee; Joe Mauro, Jose Gutman, and myself – Mike Zaremba. There were 3 residences present (2 from the Enclave and 1 from the Estates)
I summarized the Boca Winds Board Meeting of September 8th with the following highlights:
BWHOA website now includes pictures of our newly re-landscaped Waters Edge Estates Monument.
West Boca Community Council will host a General Elections Forum the evening of October 14. Watch for time & location and plan to come and meet our election candidates.
Capital Improvements are all complete except Pool #2 painting of the deck and resurfacing the parking lot.
The item of including Security in the contract for those renting the Town Hall for parties was voted down.
Also voted down was the request to look into replacing and or supplementing our contract Sheriff Deputy with Arrow Security.
There are 2 more homes in Boca Winds, which are in foreclosure and vacant, added to the list of being maintained by our landscaping staff.
Also of interest is a go-cart riding around Boca Winds. This is an illegal vehicle and subject to a violation (and possibly confiscation) by the Sheriff.
Returning to discuss specific issues about waters Edge, there was no Old Business but one item brought to our attention to be discussed as New Business. This item was a complaint about pre-cast concrete stones on the edge of the grass near the road surface on the corner of Orchard Island and Saint Simon Drives. It was determined our Committee can view these stones as similar to a landscape request. Thus our Committee can approve, disapprove, or do nothing about this complaint. After a short discussion we called other committee members. We reached Linda Giannini, who was home sick, and she said that she saw the border cinderblocks in question and felt they should be removed and any landscaping modifications must be submitted to our ARC for decisions. Then Robert Gaynor (fourth committee member to make a quorum) walked in, apologizing because traffic from work was backed up. Then the item carried a unanimous vote to have the border stones removed and a reminder that all architectural and landscaping modifications must be approved by the neighborhood ARC committee.
Sincerely, Mike Zaremba Waters Edge Chairman
