April 22, 2008
For the April 14 meeting of the Waters Edge ARC committee, all members were present along with 4 members from the community.
The meeting began with the discussion of Mike Zaremba’s presentation at the April Boca Winds Board Meeting of the estimate to re-landscape the Waters Edge Estates Entrance/Monument. The development is currently 10 years old and is due for a facelift. Steve Rubin lead the dissention asking if it was necessary at this time, was it equitable in relation to the number of homes, and how much should be spent to re-landscape the Waters Edge Entrance? When the motion was taken to re-landscape Waters Edge Entrance/Monument by vote; Steve Rubin, Domenic Potenzini, and Paul Pontrelli voted NO. Abe Piasek, Michael Docks, and Michael Zaremba voted YES. Two Board members were absent. Thus with a 3 to 3 vote it did not pass.
Steve Rubin then formed a committee to look into how much should be spent on landscaping monuments hoping to find an equitable formula based upon the number of homes, number of monuments, time since last landscaped, and whatever else looks good to be in the formula. Their report will be presented at the June Board Meeting.
In the mean time, Waters Edge apologizes for the look of our monuments (lack of) landscaping for the next 90 days. Hopefully, after the committee presents its finding to the Boca Winds Board, the Board will allow Waters Edge to finally landscape their monument.
Other items discussed were request for paint choices by a homeowner, landscaping of a side and back yard, and a driveway modification. All 3 requests were approved, some with conditions.
Sincerely, Jim McCormick, Waters Edge ARC Member
